This online press room is designed to inform the public about the opportunities and service that Habitat for Humanity provides to its many different communities. Through our mission statement it is evident that we live out our organizations values. The media in this kit exemplifies just that through volunteer events, partnerships, and more. The publics for our online press room can be for anybody who is involved in our organization, companies looking for partnerships and volunteers who want to be involved by researching more about the work that we do. The formatting considerations that I made when developing this media kit was to come across very welcoming, but also very proud of the work that we do here at Habitat and shine light on the great things we do communities all over.

 

            When I first started writing about Habitat for Humanity, I had little to no background information. I found it very intriguing to delve deeper into the organization and learn more about the work they do. I used the Habitat website as my main resource. The organization not only works in communities in the United States, but all over the world and I learned about that on their website. One of the many important lessons I learned about this assignment is the tone of voice that you use to get your point across and also making the website interactive. An improvement I could have made would be to put up stories of actual habitat homeowners. I want to generate the focus on all of the positive that Habitat does and I feel that having a section of real stories would be very compelling for any viewer on the site. The only parts I found challenging about this assignment was designing the website and figuring out the Wix site.
